A Prayer to Forgive Yourself

Dear Heavenly Father, Today I choose life by choosing to forgive myself. I believe the work of the cross was enough to forgive my sin through the blood of your only Son Jesus Christ. Today I receive that power of forgiveness and I forgive myself.

I let go of guilt, shame, anxiety, fear, condemnation, and torment knowing that You are not counting my sins against me, and therefore from this day neither will I.

Lord, set me free from my past mistakes and made me a new creation. I will no longer walk in condemnation or live a live of misery, because I forgive myself from all my sins of commission and omission.

I choose to walk in the Spirit and Your truth that says, “He who the Son sets free is free indeed.”

A Prayer to Release and Forgive Others

Dear Heavenly Father, Today I also choose to lay down bitterness, rage, anger, and slander. I ask You to give me peace, compassion, kindness, and understanding in its place.

Give me the grace to forgive everyone who has hurt me, knowingly or unaware. Give me the strength to let go of every situation and memory weighting me down.

Guard my heart against offenses of the past, present, and the future. Please teach me to walk in the spirit of grace and mercy every day from now on.

I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
