Anointed Profit for April 2017
Defeating and Overcoming Depression
The Word of God tells us to be anxious for NOTHING! Yes, the world is full of stress and anxiety, chaos, bills, and insanity. But God says be anxious for nothing!
The Apostle Paul writes the following in the book of Philippians 4:6-7. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Jesus himself said three times in chapter 6 of the book of Matthew not to worry or think on worry thoughts.
Matthew 6:25 – Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
Matthew 6:31 – Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat: or, what shall we drink: or Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 6:34 – Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Jesus also said in Matthew 6:26 – Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than birds?
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Jesus is saying that if you put your attention and mind upon the kingdom of God, then you will not have to think about food, clothes, and the world of tomorrow. Stop looking everywhere for answers and look up towards heaven. Immerse yourself in the pages of the Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God. Our God is able to reach you right where your are and meet your every need. He will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him (Isa 26:3).
Instead of worrying and thinking about the things that trouble you, consider laying your problems at the feet of Jesus and let Him take care of your worries for you. In 1 Peter 5:7 it is written for us to cast all our care upon Him, for He cares for you.
The Bible is food for your spirit, you can not live without it. You must feed on it! You must drink from the riches of God’s Word. You must apply the promises found in the Bible to your daily life. If you become detached from the Word of God, then like a plant, you will eventually shrivel up and your spiritual life will die and you will feel depressed.
Therefore, begin each morning as Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then all these things that the world seeks will be yours.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
