Christian Code of Ethics - (Saint Paul's Final Words)
Number 11 – But to do good and to communicate forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
Communicate or give of your material substance. Liberal giving is a sign of spiritual maturity. If you are not willing to support God’s work, you are not very spiritual. The act of giving is God’s method to support the ministry. It takes money to operate the local Church, and it can only be supported by believers.
Paul thanked the Philippian believers for sending him money on two occasions as he ministered in Thessalonica. Paul wrote this to them. " Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessaionica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphrodiatus the things which were sent from you, 'an odor of a sweet smell,' a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God."
Because of their generosity, Paul gave them this promise in Phil 4:19: My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
