Seven Deadly Sins
1. Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities without regard for others, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
2. Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Envy is the intense desire to have an item that someone else possesses.
3. Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. Gluttony is an excessive and ongoing eating of food or drink.
4. Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. Lust is a strong passion or longing, especially for sexual desires.
5. Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath. Wrath is a strong anger and hate towards another person.
6. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Covetousness. Greed is an excessive pursuit of material goods.
7. Sloth
is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. Sloth is an excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one's talents.
And These Six Things doth the Lord Hate:
yea, Seven are an abomination unto Him: (Proverbs 6:16-19).
1. A Proud look
2. A lying tongue
3. Hands that shed innocent blood
4. A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations
5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief
6. A false witness that speaketh lies
7. And he that soweth discord among brethren.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
