Faith Worketh by Love (Gal 5:6)

Welcome to Cornerstone Ministries . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Christian Code of Ethics - (Saint Paul's Final Words)

Number 5 – Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5).

Be content. A sign of Spiritual maturity is contentment in whatever status the believer is placed by God. A Christian should not gripe because of whatever his position is in life, he was placed there by God. Therefore, he should be content where God has put him. When I enlisted into the United States Marine Corp, I was informed that one of my fringe benefits was the right to gripe. The world’s philosophy is to “claw your way to the top”, regardless of the cost, and never be satisfied with what you have.

But this is not to be the Christian’s attitude. Whatever your position in life, you were placed there by God. Therefore, be content where God has put you. The Lord Jesus promised to be with the believer, regardless of his status, and poverty with contentment is much more desirable than riches with malcontent. Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6).

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
