Christian Code of Ethics - (Saint Paul's Final Words)
Number 8 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein (Hebrews 13:8-9).
Be Stable. We have a Lord and Savior who does not change, and His Word does not change. In the midst of a changing world, His unchangeableness is an anchor for our lives. If we know what the Word of God teaches, we will not be led astray with perversion of the truth that men teach in place of the truth of the Word of God.
At the time Saint Paul wrote this epistle, Judaizers (law keepers) were preaching that men should keep the ceremonial law, and observe the dietary laws set forth by Moses. We need to be controlled by grace, because the law “made nothing perfect”. Therefore, follow the new commandment of love and live in the favor of grace.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
