Seven of the blessed fruits of the Spirit in us.

God expects His children to live each day in the life of the fullness of Spirit. In the eighth chapter of Romans, this is said more plainly than in any other chapter of the Bible. After reading the first sixteen verses, you will find in them seven blessings, seven of the blessed fruits of the Spirit in us.

They include the follows:

1. "Who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit."(Hebrews 8:1) The whole of our conduct is under the rule of the Spirit.

2. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made us free from the law of sin and death." (Hebrews 8:2) The Spirit brings us into liberties.

3. "They that are after the Spirit" (Romans 8:5) The Christian has a new nature; God's Spirit and DNA is in them.

4. "Do mind the things of the Spirit" (Hebrews 8:5) To be spiritually minded is life and peace. Mind means disposition; to mind the things of the Spirit is to have a spiritual disposition.

5. "If ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body ye shall live." (verse 13). The Spirit makes the death to sin an actual reality in our body.

6. "As many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God" (verse 14). This is divine guidance.

7. "Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption" (verse 15). The Spirit beareth witness with our spirit.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
