The Doctrine of the Resurrection
The doctrine of the resurrection of the dead is considered one of the very basic doctrines of Christ (Hebrews 6: 1-2).
Listed below are some other types of resurrections:
Resurrection of Jesus Christ
1. Witnesses of His resurrection (Acts 1:22, 1 Cor 15:6).
2. His soul was not left in Hell (Acts 2:31).
3. He is the Author of resurrection (John 11:25).
Resurrection of Believers
1. Some characteristics of the resurrected saints (Luke 20:35-36).
2. Unto life (John 5:29).
3. Jesus is the firstborn from the dead (Romans 8:29).
Resurrection of Old Testament Saints
1. Women received their dead (I Kings 17:22).
2. Lazarus raised from the dead in Bethany (John 11:23-46, Mark 5:35-43).
3. Girl raised from the dead by Jesus (Luke 8:52).
4. Widow’s son raised from the dead (Luke 7:12-16).
Resurrection of Wicked (John 5:28-29)
1. Unto damnation (John 5:28-29) 2nd resurrection.
2. There shall be (Acts 24:15).
3. Unregenerated not included in the first (Revelations 20:5-6).
Paul writes the book of Hebrews, and records that this doctrine of the resurrection of the dead is so basic that we ought not debate this issue as the Sadducees did, and as King Herod did, who was a Sadducee until he thought Jesus Christ was John the Baptist raised from the dead.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
