Satan's Methods of Attacking Christians

Most Christians do not recognize how Satan can attack them. Most Christians do not even know when they are being attacked by Satan. Jesus himself listed 5 methods in which Satan uses to kill, steal, and destroy a Christian’s happiness, joy, and peace of mind.

In Mark chapter 4, Jesus lists the five methods Satan uses to attack Christians. You should read for yourself verses 14 through 20 before examining the short list below.

Persecution
Here is where Satan uses your own family members and your loved ones to persecute you about your belief and trust in God.

Satan loves to use your unsaved friends to harass and tempt you to do evil and to stop you from trusting in the Lord.

Satan even uses other Christians to mock you, tell you how the Word of God does not work. They will try to make you feel guilty and trouble you about your trust and walk with the Lord.

Affliction
Satan tries to oppress your mind with thoughts of fear, worry, and doubts about you, your life, and your friends and family.

Oppression of your body comes in terms of sickness, disease, pain, and inability

Cares of this world
Satan gets you to focus on worldly things that gets you to become weary and faint in your mind so you will give up your dreams, desires, and the Lord.

Satan gets you to loose confidence in God and His control over everything.

Satan tries to get you to take the care of everything by having you lean to your own understanding instead of trusting in the Lord with all your heart. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Lust of other things
This causes an overwhelming desire or craving to possess things in general.

This gets your eyes off of Jesus Christ and focused onto things that will soon pass away.

This causes you to be carnally and worldly minded, which leads to death (Romans 8:6).

Deceitfulness of riches
You will start looking to the world’s way of getting more money.

You will take a second job and put your spouse to work to get even more money.

You will stop sowing finances into the gospel and rob God of what belongs to the Lord. The whole tithe and offerings belongs to God (Malachi 3:8-10).

Conclusion: Unless you really know your enemy and how he operates, you will not be able to effectively fight Satan. You will never be an overcomer until you choose to become a victor and stop being a victim.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
