What Jesus Says About Perfect Love
1. Be Ye Perfect as Father is Perfect
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
2. Lay Not Up for Yourselves Treasures Upon Earth
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:19-21).
3. If Thou Wilt be Perfect, Sell, Give to Poor and Follow Me
If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me (Matthew 19.21).
4. Love Your Enemies
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you (Matthew 5:44).
5. Do Good, Lend, Hoping for Nothing Again
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil (Luke 6:35).
6. Resist Not Evil
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain (Matthew 5:39-4).
7. In Patience Possess Your Souls
In your patience possess ye your souls (Luke 21:19).
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
