Physical Death and Death of the Soul
1. The difference between physical death and death of the soul
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt 10:28).
2. The rich Fool’s soul was required and he died
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? (Luke 12:20).
3. The rich man died and was buried
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom, the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom (Luke 16:22-23).
4. The unbelieving Jews died in their sins
I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins (John 8:21, 24).
5. Some Apostles saw the transfiguration before they died
But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God (Luke 9:27).
6. The death of Christ brought forth fruit
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bring forth much fruit (John 12:24).
7. Christ was dead but is alive forevermore
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Rev 1:18).
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (I Timothy 4:15).
